真真假假的潮流顛覆風格 – 黃子佼 @ Real Fake吠克藝術國際聯展

黃子佼 – if i said he is one of the culture/art/潮流/藝術 leading supporter in Taiwan, you won’t doubt about it…here is his thoughts after checking out our  Real Fake吠克藝術國際聯展 last saturday…here is what he wrote about on his blog, thanks Micky for the words and visited, always appreciated.

日本的MEDICOM TOY公司和美國的塗鴨創作天王KAWS近年在南青山的地下樓合作了一家店與品牌叫“ORIGINAL FAKE”=“原創 偽造”=看似矛盾的兩個字句?

American artist KAWS has opened a store call ORIGINAL FAKE in Tokyo couple years ago, but how this 2 word “ORIGINAL” & “FAKE” putting together as these 2 words are contradicted?

理由是:
雖然它賣的都是新品設計,但畢竟KAWS當年走紅就是去翻玩其它品牌的公車站廣告(如:把NY公車站的凱文克萊廣告海報偷拿出來, 畫上自己的畫作再放回去),一路以來,他除了自創角色與“X”字畫風外,更一路翻玩了辛普森家庭、米其林輪胎公仔、星際大戰黑武士、米老鼠、日本警視廳 pipo君等等經典角色與人物,樂此不疲。所以在他當今已功成名就之餘,便用了那樣的品牌名字來自我嘲諷。

The reason of this name is :
although his designs and products are all new, KAWS used lots of existing images images like bustop posters, billboards and added on his own drawings, by adding the “X” sign and also taking simpsons as Kimpsons, michellen companion, darth vader, micky mouse….lot more…so he is playing against real items with fake added on’s…

這樣的“創作”倒底是原創original?還是偽造fake?或是我們統稱是“顛覆”!
包括KAWS,世上有很多把翻玩當主旨來設計自家 產品圖案的品牌~如日本BAPE翻玩過DHL快遞公司的LOGO與把Campbell’s湯罐頭顛覆做成抱枕或T恤罐等產品、MARC JACOBS也把自己的臉MIX了POP ART大師安迪沃荷的臉,變成了INTERVIEW雜誌的T恤與封面圖案、還有美國街牌STUSSY早年也翻玩過GUCCI的雙G交疊MONOGRAM經 典印花圖案做成黑膠唱片包等街頭類平價產品、最近和鬍鬚張魯肉飯合作的台灣品牌PIZZA CUT FIVE從LOGO到品牌名,都是顛覆日本小西康陽先生領軍的經典涉谷系音樂天團PIZZICATO FIVE…等等不勝枚舉~

Do we still call this Original work? by adding our own “images” or “symbols” onto existing images, including KAWS, there are tons of artist or designers playing with existing images or brands…Bape has played with lots of items like DHL boxes…campbell soup can tee…Marc Jacobs using exiting clothes to re-create his own fashion in early years…played as new ANDY WARHOL on interview magazine…Stussy has played with Gucci’s monogram as “S”…you name it…

但他們不是直接把其它品牌或角色印在衣服上並大膽貼上一樣的品牌標籤去假裝該品牌商品來販賣;畢竟他們自己都有自己的名號或長期的品牌經營,不像盜 版商都沒有(也不需)自身的公司行號~直接“用圖、用設計、用標籤”!他們翻玩、顛覆=“類原創”,雖是FAKE沒錯,但又有ORIGINAL成份!而八 月底,台灣也有一場類似概念的潮流藝術聯展,叫“REAL FAKE”=在想法上,確實有異曲同工之妙呢。

However, its not really about “copy” or “fake”, because we do use our own design (not fake or copy because we do use our own design to twist or re-create the existing images, so its actually “NEW” in definetion) because its still something we never seen or thought about…

this exhibition, REAL FAKE, is a show about this new movement in this decade.

參展的三個藝術家裡,旅居加拿大的TONY是近年翻玩後在台灣日本都玩出一片天的香港創作人,

this exhibition including 3 artist, TONY aka. WR, (WRONGWROKS) is one of the most popular canadian based artist rocking in Japan & Taiwan…

他的開端就是翻玩米飛兔、多拉ㄟ夢與維尼熊等歐美日卡 通角色,翻玩重點是讓他們都穿上市售之經典潮流球鞋牌子與款式,其後還有顛覆KAWS的辛普森畫作、

by adding sneakers on Doradimon, Winnie, and kitty….it did give it another meaning and visual presentation to something we already seen.

村上隆的LV彩色MONOGRAM、名畫耶穌基督最後 晚餐、川久保玲的PLAY紅心系列等等,還把海綿寶寶與多拉ㄟ夢MIX在一起!會場亦展出他對中國未來壯大力量的預言與期許~把美國運通卡變中國運通卡! 上面還有毛主席像呢。

tearing a black canvas seeing monograms…PLAY’s Heart designs, and putting Sponge Bob into Doradimon to become Dorabobs….

另外台灣創作人KEA的作品則是在創意上與材質上都很多元多變!充滿玩味與完熟的技術!包括大型雕塑“吸塵器人像”、

Another Taiwan based graffiti stencil artist, KEA, also bring another meaning to his work from existing historic images…

以NIKE為創作基礎下做的恐龍展品與許多畫作、還有類似英國殿堂級神秘塗鴉客BANKSY(http://www.banksy.co.uk/)的噴畫風格畫作等等,

Also some works that he did for NIKE, dinosour with sneaker heads on top….filled with BANKSY’s art style in his own work..

最妙的是一個運用許多街牌LOGO(如日本的BAPE猿人頭)做出一個十字架白色雕塑品,翻玩了荷蘭設計師Frank的世界名牌LOGO拼貼項鍊顛覆與翻玩得十分過癮!

還有一組參展者是不二良與他的同學阿信(五月天)合組的STAYREAL品牌,現場展出許多他們的TEE創作與雕塑,還特別開版做了TEE型展式架,非常 用心!而會場多半展出的畫作都是數位版畫,

Another group from the show was “STAY REAL”, from Taiwan and they are by 2 artist from ah SHIN @ MAYDAY and also NO2GOOD … made crazy T-shirt shape Canvas, (to be honest i never thought about it)

只有一幅超大型,以五月天做主角的可愛畫作是原畫真跡,吸引許多粉絲駐足合影!更妙的是因為展館是士林公民會 館,一方面館方希望吸引年輕人前來,所以大力支持並給了許多資源,一方面又不願意把館內的文物撤出,所以阿信在開展前一晚到會場時,便靈機一動,在農作道 具文物上,放入了街頭味十足的噴漆罐來做妝點,這也是一個另類的顛覆傳統吧?
